Biography

Tall Hungarian striker Balogh signed for City in September 2019 after a short trial, and made his debut six weeks later in a rainy away win at Nottingham Forest. He was injured late in that game as City clung on for victory, and didn’t return to first team action until late February 2020 when he made a good impression coming off the bench. However the COVID-19 pandemic halted his emerging recovery and he left the club in late May 2020.
Born in Hajdúböszörmény, one of Hungary’s premier unpronouncable towns located to the east of the country, Norbert began his career at Debrecen, making his senior debut in August 2014. Over the next year Balogh attracted the interest of several European clubs, including Premier League sides, and in January 2016 Italian side Palermo parted with 2.2 million euro for his signature. He struggled for first team action with the Eagles and when the club went bust in May 2019 he became a free agent, following a spell on loan in Cypriot side APOEL Nicosia.
In August 2020 Balogh signed a two year deal with 2020 Hungarian Cup winners Budapest Honved,
