Biography

Bustling Turkish striker Enis Destan joined the Tigers in August 2025 having signed from Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor. An injury meant he missed the opening weeks of the season, when he came into the first team picture he impressed with his willing running and robust playing style when coming off the bench.
Enis Destan was born in Konak, a district of the city of Izmir on the Aegean coast of Turkiye. He came through the youth system at Izmir based 1. Lig side Altinordu and made his senior debut against Menemenspor in July 2020, having scored regularly for the Under-19 side throughout the 2019/20 season. Still just 18 years old, Destan broke into the Altinordu first team during the 2020/21 season, scoring his first senior goal in October 2020 against Adanaspor and helping his side reach the end of season promotion play-offs, only to lose the May 2021 final to Altay SK – Enis netted fourteen goals during the season. He was less prolific during the first half of the 2021/22 season as Altinordu struggled in the lower reaches of the table, but continued to show form that attracted attention from top flight Turkish clubs. – by January 2022 Destan had scored sixteen goals in 47 appearances.
In January 2022 Enis signed a long term deal at Super Lig side Trabzonspor. He made his debut in a February 2022 Turkish Cup tie against Denizlispor but failed to break into the Super Lig side during the remainder of the 2021/22 season. In August 2022 Destan joined Polish Ekstraklasa side Warta Poznan on a season long loan deal, he debuted for Warta in August 2022 against Pogon Szczecin and netted his first goal in Polish football against GKS Jastrzebie three weeks later. Used principally from the bench, Enis scored two goals in 23 appearances during his season in Poznan.
Returning to Trabzonspor for the start of the 2023/24 season, Destan became an important part of the first team squad that challenged in the top three of the Turkish Super Lig. Initially coming into the side as a goalscoring substitute – he netted his first goal for Trabzonspor in August 2023 against Caykur Rizespor – he was handed a place in the starting eleven from January 2024 onwards and ended the season with twelve goals including a May 2024 hattrick against Ankaragucu. His aggressive side was demonstrated in the April 2024 first leg of the Turkish cup semi final, when Enis was red carded and was suspended for the second leg and the final, which Trabzonspor lost to Besiktas. In July 2024 Destan made his debut in European competition, a Europa League qualifying tie against Slovakian side Ruzomberok, after which a series of niggling injuries meant he reverted to his role as impact substitute for much of the 2024/25 season. When he left Trabzonspor in August 2025 Destan had scored fourteen goals in 65 appearances.
Destan was an important part of the Turkiye Under-21 squad for three seasons, his debut in March 2021 against Croatia started a run of games that drew to a close with his 21st appearance in March 2024 against Italy, during that time he scored six goals for the Under-21 side. In March 2021, days after his Under-21 debut, Destan was named on the bench for the Turkiye senior squad against Latvia but remained unused.
