988 Calaum Jahraldo-Martin

Biography

Winger Jahraldo-Martin was signed from Dulwich Hamlet in March 2013 after a successful trial, making his City debut in the League Cup five months later.  But City’s elevation to the Premier League hampered his chances of breaking into the first team and after three seasons he left with only four substitute appearances under his belt.

Born in the London suburbs of Hemel Hempstead but raised in Antigua, Jamaica and the Harrow in North West London from the age of 11, Jahraldo-Martin took a chaotic approach to offers of trials at league clubs.  He finally settled at Dulwich Hamlet, where his pace alerted league scouts once more.

Calaum had a lengthy loan spell at Leyton Orient in the last season of his City contract but they did not sign him permanently that summer.  He instead moved to Oldham Athletic where he made a handful of appearances.  In August 2017 he signed for League 2 side Newport County but stayed for only one season.  After a year playing in non-league football Calaum hung up his boots and co-founded Firstluxe, a concierge business providing goods and services to elite sports people.

Jahraldo-Martin is a regular in the Antigua and Barbuda senior team, having made his debut in September 2014.
