Biography

Christos Mouzakitis was a September 2026 deadline day purchase costing fifteen million euros, the headline signing in a crop of players that joined the newly promoted Premier League Tigers. The Greek international midfielder was still a teenager when he joined Hull City and debuted in the League Cup against Sunderland.

Christos Mouzakitis was born in the Greece capital Athens, though his parents hailed from the Ionian Sea island of Corfu. From the age of ten he was part of the academy at Greek Super League giants Olympiacos Piraeus and began playing regularly for the Under-19 side in January 2022 while still fifteen years old. A regulkar goalscorer in the UEFA Youth League during the 2023/24 season, Mouzakitis was part of the Olympiacos first team squad at the start of the 2024/25 season and made his senior debut in September 2024 against Atromitos. He immediately carved out a place in the first eleven and scored his first senior goal in February 2025 against Levadiakos. He was a regular in the Europa League, the Greek Super League title winning side and the team that lifted the Greek Cup in May 2025, beating OFI Crete in the final.

Christos retained his first team berth during the 2025/26 season as Olympiacos finished league runners-up and competed in the Champions League. His final appearance for the side in August 2026 against PAOK Thessaloniki took his tally to three goals in 78 appearances, ahead of his transfer to Hull City.

Mouzakitis made rapid progress through the Greek international system as a teenager, making 3 appearances for Greece Under-16 in April 2022 then adding one goal in 5 appearances for Greece Under-17 in September and October 2022 – all while still fifteen years old. In November 2023 he made 3 appearances for Greece Under-19, then added 3 Greece Under-21 appearances during September and October 2024. In November 2024, a month before his eighteenth birthday, Christos made his senior debut for Greece against Finland. He remained an important part of the Greece national team during the 2025/26 season ahead of his move to the Tigers. In October 2026 he won his first cap for Greece as a Hull City player against Germany, winning his 12th cap for his country.
