Biography
North ferriby-born centre back Ian Wilkinson was a YTS trainee for City when he was thrust into Terry Dolan’s relegation dogfight (which soon turned into a whimper) in the spring of 1996. Despite playing in some heavy defeats, Wilkinson impressed and scored his only City goal in an unlikley 4-2 home win over Wycombe Wanderers. He was offered a professional contract in the 1996 close season but quickly suffered a serious injury that ended his playing career.
