Biography
Half back Bill Johnson joined City in the 1923 close season, having played well for his home town club Seaton Delaval in the North Eastern League. By October 1923 he was an established part of Bill McCracken’s first team and missed only one game during the remainder of the season. Johnson was retained on City’s books for two further seasons but played irregularly for the first team.
