Biography

Central defender Di’Shon Bernard joined Hull City in August 2021 on a season-long loan from Manchester United. He made his Tigers debut in a League Cup tie against Wigan Athletic and performed impressively for ninety minutes before missing the deciding spot kick in a penalty shoot-out. He made his League debut for City in late August at Fulham, matching up and performing well against agressive Serb forward Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Di’Shon Joel Bernard was born in Wandsworth, South West London and came through the academy ranks at Chelsea before switching to Manchester United’s under-18s setup in 2017. He made his Manchester United debut in a November 2019 Europa League tie against Khazakstan team Astana, Scoring an unfortunate own-goal in a 1-2 defeat. In 2019 and 2020 he played six times for the Red Devils’ Under-23 side competing in the Associate Members’ Cup. In October 2020 he joined Salford City on loan and made 31 appearances for the Ammies, scoring two goals against Carlisle United in December 2020 and Mansfield Town in January 2021.
