1044 Ben Hinchliffe

Biography

Young striker Hinchliffe made his way to the professional game via City’s academy, he sat on the bench during several Premier League fixtures during 2016 before making his first team debut in August 2017 at Doncaster Rovers. In March 2018 he joined Gainsborough Trinity on loan and was released by City the following May, having made a solitary first team appearance.

In 2019 he signed for NCEL side Barton Town and scored 19 goals in his first season on the south bank of the Humber.  He scored three more goals in the 2020/21 season before COVID-19 bought the lower leagues to a premature halt. When non-league football returned Ben continued to perform for the Lincolnshire side, notching 16 goals in the 2022/23 season – taking his tally over four seasons to 63 goals in 126 appearances.

In June 2023 Ben switched to ambitious North East Counties League side Beverley Town and announced his arrival in grand style, scoring two hattricks in pre-season friendlies against Hedon Rangers and Goole AFC.
