Biography
Attacking midfielder Callum Graham Jones joined the Tigers in August 2019, having previously impressed with Welsh League side The New Saints and during short spells at Oswestry Town and Bury. He made his City debut in a September 2020 EFL Trophy tie and made his League debut four days later at Gillingham. Callum scored his first City goal, and captained the first team, against Harrogate Town in November 2020.
In June 2021 Jones joined newly promoted League One side Morecambe on a season long loan to gain further first team experience. After 18 senior appearances and two goals – the second of which was against local rivals Fleetwood Town – the Tigers terminated Callum’s loan in January 2022 as new owner Acun Ilicali’s management team looked to evaluate the club’s full squad. After spending a few games on City’s first team bench, in early March 2022 Jones moved to Conference National side Grimsby Town on loan and made three appearances.
Callum waited patiently in City’s reserves for the first half of the 2022/23 season and only emerged for first team action when given ten minutes off the bench at the end of City’s January 2023 FA Cup tie against Fulham. Weeks later he signed a renewed contract with City that extended to the summer of 2025.
In July 2023 Callum joined League Two side Forest Green Rovers on a season long loan, where he scored once – in January 2024 against Gillingham – in 29 appearances as the Gloucestershire side slipped out of the Football League. In July 2024 he agreed a further season-long loan, returning to League Two side Morecambe.
Jones was capped for the Wales Under-18 squad while at The New Saints. After an impressive start to the 2020/21 season Callum was selected to play for the Wales Under-20 squad in October 2020 against England.
