989 Conor Henderson

Biography

Young midfielder Henderson joined the Tigers in September 2013 on a short term deal and he made his solitary appearance in a League Cup tie against Huddersfield Town a few days later.  He spent the end of the 2013/14 season on loan at Stevenage before his one year contract expired that Summer.

Henderson spent his formative years at Arsenal, making only one first team appearance in the FA Cup.  He struggled with injury at the time when his chance of first team appearances was greatest and he was released by the Gunners in 2013.

After his release from City he signed for Crawley Town, where he spent two seasons.  He then had a spell at Grimsby Town, initially on loan then on a short term deal, but he failed to carve a regular place in the first team.  He spent the final part of 2016/17 back at Crawley Town where he again played a support role before his contract again expired in June 2017.  After a few weeks on the books at Eastbourne Borough Henderson headed east and began an Eastern European odyssey that took him to Bulgarian side Pirin Blagoevgrad.  After an eight month with Romanian side Dunarea Calarasi during 2019 Henderson returned to Blagoevgrad where he built a reputation as a combative midfield presence. He left the club a second time and ended his playing days in February 2022.

Henderson played for England under-17s but then switched to Ireland to play at under-19 and under-21 levels.  His international career halted once he left Arsenal.
