949 Tijani Belaid

Biography

Tunisian midfielder Belaid signed for City in January 2011 on a short term contract.  He played a few games, made barely any impression and left the following summer.

Parisian born to Tunisian parents, Belaid had a youth career at Paris FC before making a big move to Inter Milan at the age of 17.  He made his debut for the Nerazzuri in 2005 but was never able to break into the regular first team squad and had loan spells in Holland and the Czech Republic.  The latter loan, to Slavia Prague, became a permanent move in 2008 and after three seasons he was released, prompting his short term move to Hull City.

Belaid’s career then became a globe trotting extravaganza, spells in Cyprus, Germany, Portugal and Russia were followed by two years in the Tunisian league.  In 2017 he signed for Greek Superleague side Veria but within a few months he signed for Palembang-based Indonesian League side Sriwijaya.  In December 2017 he returned to Tunisia, re-signing for Club Africain, but was soon on his travels again playing for clubs in Indonesia, Bahrain, Iraq and Kyrgystan.

Belaid is a Tunisian international who made his senior debut in 2006.
