Biography
Striker Harris joined the Tigers in the 1999 close season and made an immediate impact during the summer’s pre-season friendlies. When the senior games began his record was less impressive and it took him 6 months and 21 appearances to bag his first goals, a brace against Brighton. Another brace at Carlisle on April Fools Day 2000 completed his scoring for the Tigers because in his second season, under Brian Little’s management, Harris barely had a look in and was loaned to Shrewsbury ahead of his release in the 2001 close season.
Born in South London, Jason Harris began his career at Crystal Palace, making his first team debut in September 1996. He switched to Leyton Orient in 1997 where he played a full season and hit 7 goals. This form led to a move to Preston a year later, where he again scored 7 goals in a season where 28 of his 41 appearances for the Lilywhites were from the subs bench. He left Preston in 1999 to join City.
Following his departure from Boothferry Park, Harris joined Southend but he was released by the Essex side after a couple of months. Harris then returned north and embarked on a four year tour of several non-league sides, disappearing off the radar by 2005.
