Biography

Midfielder Matthew Hopkin was born in Hull and came through the Tigers’ youth training scheme in the early 1990s. He made just one senior appearance when he came on as substitute in an August 1993 League Cup tie.

Hopkin was released by City in the 1994 close season, after a spell playing for Hall Road Rangers and North Ferriby United he gave up the game and joined the Royal Air Force.
