Biography
Utility forward Huxford joined City in 1938 and played a supporting role during the Tigers’ final season before World War Two.
Born in Grimsby, Huxford played for his home town club prior to his move to Hull City. He signed for Boston United in June 1939 and played wartime games for the Lincolnshire side, but returned to Grimsby during World War Two hostilities and played several wartime fixtures for the Mariners. In 1945 he returned for Boston United and in 1948 he moved on to Midland League side Peterborough United.
Huxford died in 2001.
