Biography

Experienced wing half Helsby spent a single season at City, having already successfully battling a heart condition earlier in his career.

Helsby had spent several seasons around the north west football scene before enjoying six seasons at Cardiff, Bradford and Swindon, prior to his move to Anlaby Road. He won a Welsh Cup winners medal at Cardiff in 1930. Helsby died in 1961.
