Biography

Left half Campbell joined City in the 1925 close season from Walker Park FC in the east end of Newcastle. For two seasons he provided support to the consistent Tommy Bleakley, before moving on to Bradford City in 1927. After a single appearance for Bradford, Campbell moved south to join Southern League side Yeovil and Petters United.
Campbell was born in Walker, by the banks of the Tyne in industrial Newcastle. After his football career Campbell returned in the Hull area and died in the city in September 1981.
