Biography
Tyneside-born forward Thomas Wilkinson joined City in November 1924 from junior football in County Durham. In two seasons he made only four starts, but scored in two of his appearances in 1925/26 – a 1-2 home defeat to Middlesbrough and a 2-2 away draw at Blackpool.
Wilkinson subsequently had a successful spell at Blyth Spartans which led to him signing for Everton in March 1927 and in July 1928 moving to Division Three North side Nelson, but he did not make senior appearances for either league club. In 1929 he returned to County Durham and played for several non-league sides. Wilkinson died in 1960.
