1085 Festus Arthur

Biography

Centre back Festus Arthur was born in Hamburg, Germany to Ghanian parents, was raised in England and came through the academy system at Conference National side Stockport County. He joined the Tigers in July 2020 and made his Tigers’ debut in a September 2020 EFL Trophy tie against Leicester City. His early promise was halted when he suffered a serious knee injury and missed the majority of the 2020/21 season.

In August 2021 he joined League Two side Barrow on a season long loan but that was cut short in January 2022 after fifteen senior appearances and one goal for the Cumbrians, with Arthur returning to Hull and sitting on the bench for new owner Acun Ilicali’s debut win over Blackburn Rovers. Despite this return he wasn’t able to add any first team appearances to his tally during the remainder of the 2021/22 season and he left the club in July 2022 to join Conference National side FC Halifax Town, making 21 appearances in the 2022/23 season and scoring once in the FA Trophy against Guiseley.

Arthur did not make any first team appearances for the Shaymen during the first half of the 2023/24 season, in January 2024 he joined National League North side Southport on loan for a two month spell.
