Biography
Young midfielder Max Daniel Sheaf joined City at the age of 16 following his release from the Arsenal youth ranks, signing his first professional contract in May 2018, a deal that was extended in December 2018. He made his first team debut at the end of August 2018 in a League Cup tie against Derby County, becoming the first player to play a senior fixture for Hull City who was born in the 21st century. Sheaf was an occasional bench sitter for the rest of the season, making his first League appearance in May 2019 against Bristol City. He was loaned to League Two side Cheltenham Town for the 2019/20 season to gain first team experience and put in a string of impressive performances, scoring three goals in 22 appearances before an injury in March 2020 interrupted his season.
Max returned to Hull City for the 2020/21 League One campaign and made his first appearance of the season in the EFL Trophy tie against Leicester City. After spending the opening months on the first team fringes, Max joined Conference National high flyers Torquay United on loan in January 2021 to get more regular starting experience, though he made only three appearances for the Gulls.
Max was released by Hull City in May 2021 and three months later he signed for National League North side Gloucester City, making 19 appearances during the 2021/22 season that ended with a loan spell at Hungerford Town. He moved to Southern League side Redditch United in August 2022 and carded an impressive eight goals and 18 assists in 54 appearances during the 2022/23 season. This form led to a return to the professional ranks in June 2023 when he signed for Scottish Premiership side Ross County, ending his first season for the Highlanders with 19 senior appearances.
