Biography
Inside forward James Maurice Jones was born in Manchester and grew up in Ellesmere Port. He was plucked from the Manchester junior football scene in May 1947 and given one appearance by City towards the end of the month, at a time when the bad Winter of 1947 had caused a fixture pile-up and squad members were struggling to play in every game due to National Service commitments. Jones was not retained and returned to footballing obscurity in the summer. He settled in Bolton and died in July 1994.
