Lavishly gifted Jamaican international star who made his name in the 1998 World Cup, Tappa came to City in October 1999 to launch his English career. Extravagantly skilled and with a delicate touch, Theo lent style and firepower to the City midfield.   Tappa was one man who could turn a game on its head with a piece of skill.
His form dipped in 2000-01 after a car crash injured him and killed his international team-mate Steve Malcolm.  He recovered for one more season before returning to Jamaica to face charges related to Malcolm's death.  Following his acquittal, he resurrected his career and briefly signed for SPL club Livingston before being released from his contract in December 2003.  In the Summer of 2004 he was reunited with former boss Brian Little and Jamaican team-mate Ian Goodison at Tranmere Rovers.
