With his trademark headband encrusted with mud from another 90 minutes of centre half dominance, Steve Terry was a figure that stood out from the footballing crowd.  He was a semi-regular in the 1980s Watford side that tasted success beyond the Vicarage Roaders' humble surroundings before moving to Hull in the late 80s squad rebuild that went so horribly and enduringly wrong.  That said, Terry was hardly to blame for the Tigers' demise as he turned in a few decent performances punctuated by much hoofery.
Another five seasons at Northampton were followed by lengthy spells at Enfield and Billericay as the big man kept playing well into his late 30s.  He still resides in the Hertfordshire area and is now termed a "Watford legend" in local newspapers.  His main claim to fame these days is that Vinnie Jones married Terry's former wife (the bird with the heart transplant) and adopted his son.
