Nolberto Albino Solano Todco is one of the most famous living men in his native Peru (his wedding was televised live on Peruvian TV), Nobby Solano carved out a long career at Newcastle United, punctuated by a season and a half at Aston Villa, after spending his younger years in Peru (Sporting Cristal and Universitario de Deportes) and Argentina (Boca Juniors, where he played alongside a coke sniffing Diego Maradona).  After a less successful spell at West Ham United, Solano spent a season in the Greek League at Larissa then returned for half a season to Universitario de Deportes of Peru.  It was City Boss Nigel Pearson that lured Solano back to the English League where he was instrumental in assisting Leicester City to the Championship play-offs.  Pearson then tempted Solano further with a contract at the Tigers and he immediately competed for the City first team right back position.  But by the end of the season Solano fell out of favour and he rejected a post on the City coaching staff, instead taking a similar player-coach role at Hartlepool.
