Experienced left sided midfield player and lady's man with a good pedigree in the lower Leagues and, for Leicester, the higher echelons.  Philpott was one of Brian Little's first signings for the club, no doubt a function of their time together at Filbert Street.  A strong and tricky player, Lee added a modicum of guile to the Tigers engine room.  As his knees became dodgy he drifted out of the City squad. He is always guaranteed a warm reception at Cambridge, where he was something of a cult figure in the early 90s.  While there he played with Steve Claridge, who as manager of ambitious Weymouth FC recruited Lee in Summer 2003.
