A terrific servant to the club (in the mid 80s he played in over 200 consecutive first team games) and one of the finest goalkeepers the club has ever had on its books, Tony Norman was a solid and dependable player who rarely let his club or country down - he won 5 caps for Wales, a total that would've been 105 had Tony not been a contemporary of Scouse binman Neville Southall.  He went on to give Sunderland and Huddersfield equally excellent service although his caps total was not added to once he left Boothferry Park.
After his League career ended Norman joined the Police force in Wales.
