Highly rated French defender signed from Boulogne in June 2009 after a deal had initially been agreed the previous January.  Born in the Parisian suburbs to Congolese parents, Steven played for Chateauroux and Gueugeon before coming to the attention of Premier League scouts at high flying Boulogne, who were promoted to Ligue 1 immediately prior to Mouyokolo's signing. After a slow start, he established himself as a worthy Premier League defender - form that encouraged Mick McCarthy to part with a rumoured £2.5 million of Wolves' money to secure his services in June 2010.
