Energetic right back with a fine Premiership and international pedigree, Mills brought his kerosene fuelled footballing style to the KC to resurrect his career after a falling out at Manchester City.  Pleasingly, while Mills played for the Tigers, Leeds United were still footing much of his wages.  He had the necessary impact before injury cut short his loan.  City fans hoped he might be signed permanently the following summer but Mills set his sights elsewhere and joined former club Charlton on loan at the end of August 2007.  That loan was curtailed when he was sent off in pantomime circumstances - ironically against the Tigers - and he joined Premiership target practice Derby County.  Mills retired from the professional game in August 2009 and is now a regular media pundit.
