Comment
After commencing his career at Caen, defender Mendy moved to Paris St Germain and made over 200 appearances for the French side over an eight year career.  During 2002-03 he was loaned to Bolton Wanderers where he came to the attention of Phil Brown, which is why City fought off the attentions of Werder Bremen to sign the holder of four French international caps.  Mendy's first season for the Tigers was remarkable, his all-action style winning supporters over but occasionally causing severe alarm.  As city's form dipped Mendy appeared to lose interest and his form in his second Tigers season was generally poor and he was freed in May 2010.
