Rated young midfielder signed on loan by Peter Taylor after having worked with the player at Brighton, within a month he was given a two and a half year contract.  Melton never found his feet at the KC and only showed his ability in brief flashes, none more so than when he made history by scoring the first ever goal at the Kingston Communications Stadium on the 18th December 2002.  In March 2004 he signed a one year deal with Boston United before slipping into the non-leagues with Alfreton and King's Lynn.
