Water carrying midfield grafter McKenna had compiled a whole career at Preston before he joined Nottingham Forest after 16 seasons at Deepdale.  And two years on, McKenna signed for the Tigers on expiry of his City Ground contract to add organisation and tackling to the City midfield.  After a shaky couple of games McKenna warmed to his task and soon established himself as a regular man of the match contender and vital cog in the City passing machine.  What a signing!
