Angolan international striker Manucho (full name Mateus Alberto Contreiras Gonçalves) scored goals aplenty in the Angolan league before attracting the attention of Manchester United in January 2008.  Initially loaned to Greek side Panathinaikos, Manucho joined the Tigers in the January 2009 transfer window in an attempt to kick start City's Premier League campaign in the same way that fellow Old Trafford loanee Fraizer Campbell had the previous season.  It didn't really work out, although he did contribute the vital goal that sealed three points at Fulham that in the end contributed to City's Premier League survival.  That Summer he headed for Spain.
