Manny's electric skill, lightning pace and intelligent footballing brain worried opposition right backs for several seasons.  He endured a three year spate of horrific and ultimately career threatening knee injuries that robbed Neil of more chances to demonstrate that at the turn of the century he was at, or perhaps still approaching, the peak of his career.  After returning to full fitness at the start of 2002-03 his appalling run of poor luck continued as he snapped an achilles tendon while on loan at Gainsborough Trinity.  This finished his playing career off, but he remains a long serving member of the City payroll as Youth Coach.
