Comment
Jamaican international King began his career at local side Dulwich Hamlet before moving to Barnet and Gillingham.  His early career was interrupted in 2002 by a spell in jail for handling stolen goods, but this experience perhaps galvanised him and he went to climb the footballing ladder with moves to Nottingham Forest, Watford and eventually Wigan.  However he was not well favoured by new Wigan boss Steve Bruce and he joined City on a season long loan on the eve of the Tigers' 2008-09 Premier League season.
After contributing some valuable goals and generally leading the line well for three months, his form dipped as a late-night casino ruck with Dean Windass, an alleged assault in a London nightclub and a lengthy driving ban all descended upon him in the space of a month.  By mid-January 2009 he was storming out of the dressing room on hearing the news that we was named as substitute for the home game against Arsenal, and within a few days he was returned to Wigan then loaned out again to Middlesbrough.
In October 2009 King was convicted of sexual assault and actual bodily harm for his part in an assault in a Soho club after City's win against Middlesbrough in December 2008, and was imprisoned for 18 months.  It was revealed that he had 13 previous offences of various kinds, mostly motoring offences.  A thoroughly unpleasant character.  On his release he resumed his career amidst some unsavoury grandstanding by his cretinous agent Tony Finnegan, signing for Coventry City.  After a season of rehabilitation he moved on to Birmingham City.
