Quite simply the finest defender to have pulled a Black and Amber shirt over his head in the last twenty years.  Composed on the ball, quick, tough tackling, good distribution, good in the air - it's no wonder a top flight career, featuring England B caps as a highlight, beckoned for Jobbo.  After a long injury layoff, he enjoyed a promotion season with a the resurgent Manchester City, before joining Tranmere and Rochdale, where he was still going strong up to his retirement on his 40th birthday.
