Left sided defender highly regarded by the Oldham support, but allowed to come to Boothferry on loan after falling out of favour with Latics manager Andy Ritchie.  After a dozen powerful performances featuring tough tackling, skillful dribbling, hard running and a mammoth throw-in, Tigers owner Adam Pearson invested £150,000 to secure the full time services of Holt.  It seemed money very well spent, but subsequent attitude and weight problems saw a downturn in form and Andy lose his first team place.
Discarded at the end of 2002-03, Holt has shown commendable fighting spirit to get himself back in shape and spent 2003-04 as an important squad member filling in for Stuart Elliott on the left side of midfield.  Alas his work wasn't enough to earn a new Tigers contract and he moved on to Wrexham in July 2004.
