Match Day Tickets via HCSS - HCSS is indebted to the KC Stadium Ticket Office staff for continuing to provide us with an excellent service in respect of providing match day tickets for all-ticket fixtures.  Please read a summary of the procedures below.

HCSS endeavours to obtain tickets for members exiled from Hull and not able to use usual purchasing channels.  The continuation of this privilege is reliant on members treating it with respect and not abusing it. You also need to be aware that:

  • we will only order one ticket per member (adults, OAPs and juniors);

  • we can’t guarantee tickets for every order received, but we will try;

  • the committee has devised a method for prioritising tickets when demand outstrips supply, which must be adhered to at all times (see below); and

  • all orders must be paid for, even if you don’t end up using the ticket for whatever reason.

We rely on timely and accurate information being given to our Match Ticket Co-ordinator. Prior notice is always sent out by email via the HCSS-Announce Yahoo Group, which you are strongly encouraged to join if you wish to enjoy the full benefits of HCSS membership. You will need to ensure you meet order deadlines.

To submit your order you can access the Ticket Ordering Form here or use the link on the menu at the top of the page.

Ticket Ballot System for Over-Subscribed Matches

In recent seasons we have occasionally experienced a situation where demand for tickets amongst HCSS members has outstripped  supply.  The KC Stadium Ticket Office now gives HCSS a minimum allocation of tickets for each match, and has often released further tickets for matches in the south in response to our requests - however some matches have remained over-subscribed and we have had to introduce a ballot system for such an eventuality.  The ballot system is completely open and all members have a chance of getting a ticket for over-subscribed games.  However the Committee recognises that contributions over the years to the objectives of HCSS should be rewarded, which led us to develop a loyalty points system that will be used to produce a weighted ballot for tickets.  In this system loyalty points are awarded for the following criteria:

  • Years of membership (long term loyalty reward): a maximum of 30 points, new members receive 1 point for this criterion on joining HCSS.

  • Tickets purchased through HCSS last season (short term loyalty reward): 2 points per ticket purchased.

  • Hull City season ticket holder (loyalty to the club): 20 points.

  • Contribution to HCSS Committee (effort reward): a maximum of 50 points (assigned by length of service in all key committee roles over the history of HCSS).

  • Other contributions to HCSS (effort reward): a maximum of 25 points, 5 points per contribution.  Eligible contributions are organising sports and social events, driving minibuses to matches, writing articles for Tigers Eye, helping to produce the Travel Guide, assistance with tickets, organising pub screenings.  These contributions can also relate to other examples of organising and leading events associated with HCSS.

  • Unsuccessful applications through previous HCSS ballots (participation reward): all unsuccessful applications receive 1 point per home game and 2 points per away game, thus enabling new members with relatively low loyalty points totals to build their points despite missing out on previous ballots.

  • Preferred games you want to attend: up to three away games (and three home games if you do not have a season ticket) can be nominated at the start of the season as matches that you especially wish to attend.  For your three nominated away games you will receive a further 10 loyalty points for each of those games alone - same for your three preferred home games.  This criterion is also designed to help our handful of overseas members for whom the choice of matches that they can attend is inevitably limited (note: this criterion is being reviewed by the Committee for 2009-10 season).

  • Contributing tickets to the HCSS pot: season ticket holders and away direct members will be awarded 2 loyalty points per ticket for contributing unwanted/unused tickets to the HCSS stack.  Clearly in the case of away direct members, these loyalty points only have relevance once they have ceased membership of away direct (or even relinquished their season ticket) and wish to once again procure tickets through HCSS on a match by match basis.

As well as ratified by the HCSS Committee, this loyalty points system has been approved by the KC Stadium Ticket Office as an appropriate way of allocating tickets to HCSS members in a way that lends some weight to various loyalty indicators, but retains an opportunity for all members to obtain tickets for some matches.

Group Ticket Applications

Members are allowed to apply for tickets in groups of no more than four. However, for families we are willing to extend that to up to two adults and three children.

In future, please notify us of any grouping requirements in the 'notes' section of the ticket application form. All members of the grouping must request it in the notes section of their web form when they apply.

Please note that if you apply as a group then you will ONLY be entered in the ballot as part of the group. You will be forfeiting any right to receive a ticket for the game in question as an individual. You should be aware that your chances of being drawn out of the ballot may be reduced if you are applying in a group.

Here's an example of how it works. If Member A has 30 loyalty points (as per the above weighting system) and applies together with Member B who has 10 loyalty points, the group allocation is one entry with 20 points (add the points together and divide by number of members in the group).

Groupings will be considered on a game-to-game basis, so if you apply for one game as part of a group, there is nothing to stop you applying for the next as an individual.

Travel Guide - HCSS produces travel guides for Hull City away matches, which feature information about the organisation and details of pre-match meeting places.  These meeting places are where match day tickets are distributed - it's just a coincidence that they are all fine pubs serving good food and quality ales, honest!  For 2008-09 HCSS distributed the Travel Guide via the HCSS-Announce Yahoo Group website rather than printing hard copies at the start of the season as Premier League fixtures - and therefore pre-match meeting arrangements - can change at short notice throughout the season.  For 2009-10 we are returning to a printed Travel Guide issued prior to the season's commencement.
