A stocky midfielder who came from Aberdeen as part of the Dean Windass sale, Gilbert spent two seasons on the fringes of the first eleven before returning north - a long way north.  He battled against loss of sight to return to the Ross side after an eighteen month layoff, but in the end the risk to his remaining sight was too great and he gave up the game at the age of 28.
Is now assistant manager and occasional mask-wearing player for Deveronvale in the Highland League (cheers Stu!).
