Elliott |

|
| Comment Lightning quick left sided Northern Ireland international striker who was Hull City's record signing for a time - £230,000 secured his services from Motherwell, and he made an immediate impact with a goal on his debut. After a period of absence with injury Elliott took time to re-establish his first team place, but late in 2002-3 he started hitting the net regularly with shots and headers and became an integral part of the Tigers' goal threat. In 2004-5 Elliott's goals fired City to second place in League One and the Championship, scoring 29 goals in league and cup, a remarkable haul for a winger. Subsequently Elliott fought asthmatic and viral problems and remained a useful fringe player that could be relied upon to change - if not dominate - a game on occasions. In January 2008, with his City contract expiring in the Summer and first team chances few and far between, Stuart joined Doncaster Rovers initially on loan with a two year contract to follow. Just reward for a true Tigers promotion hero. His time at Doncaster was not fruitful and in January 2010 he headed north to join SPL side Hamilton Academicals. This move also did not work out, and Elliott retired in September 2010 in order to dedicate his full time attention to his beliefs as a Born Again Christian. |
