Express pace striker that scored a hatful of goals in the rather modest surroundings of the Scottish First Division, after his release from Glasgow Rangers.  Nevertheless Darryl was an exciting signing used sparingly and sporadically in Peter Taylor's later days.  However he struggled to forge a first team place in 2006-07 under Parkinson's and Brown's struggling regimes, and was farmed out to lower league sides to gain confidence and match practice.  In the end raw talent and goals on loan were not enough to encourage Phil Brown to retain Duffy and he was flogged to Swansea for £200,000 in July 2007.  After a patchy season with the Welsh side Duffy joined Bristol Rovers in July 2008.
