Irish youngster sent to struggling Darlington to get some first team experience under the wing of assistant manager Dean Windass, then passed on to Shrewsbury after Deano's sacking.  He made a strong impression at Grimsby, potting a few goals along the way, and made his City debut in the opening game of 2010-11, catching the eye on the right side of midfield. By August 2011 he was again seeking first team action, being loaned to Bradford City, returning to City in January 2012.
