One of several Brian Horton signings from his former club Luton Town, Frankie Bunn was a strong running forward with a tremendous chin.  Frankie made a good scoring contribution to City's time in the Second Division in the late 1980s, without ever really proving his worth on a consistent basis after a fine first season.  Given the slightly ironic soubriquet "The Wild Bull" by some City fans, Bunn was evidently willing but often struggled to stamp his mark on games.  He subsequently left for better times at Oldham (including a League Cup goalscoring record of six goals in one game against Scarborough) before a nasty injury curtailed his career at 27 years of age.  Frankie went on to enjoy a career in coaching at Wigan Athletic and Manchester City, he was appointed First Team Coach at Iain Dowie's Coventry City in February 2007.
