This aggressive utility man, a former nightclub door enforcement person of fifteen stones and six feet, was snapped up from Blackpool for a five figure fee to add bite to the Tigers' relegation-saving challenge.  Despite a reputation for a fiery temperament and consequential red card antics, Brabs successfully curbed his over-aggressive instincts and for three seasons was a useful, if slightly immobile, rock around which the City midfield was constructed.  In the end he fell victim to Little's 2001 clear-out, and was given a free transfer.
Released by Torquay after just seven starts and two red cards, one on his Boothferry return, he made a name in the Welsh League for TNS before a heart condition curtailed his playing career.  Was appointed assistant manager at Witton Albion in November 2004 before returning to the game, possibly against medical advice, with Halifax Town in July 2005.
