Brazilian goalkeeper Basso was previously best known to City fans for his flailing dive as Dean Windass stroked a Wembley goal past him when playing for Bristol City in the 2008-09 Championship play off final.  He came to England from Brazil in 2005, trialing at Arsenal before taking non-league roles at St Albans City and Woking that earned him a contract at Bristol City.  He left the west country side in 2010 after a five year stint, signing a short term deal with Wolves before joining the Tigers on a one year deal in July 2011.  he proved a good stopper but his fitness was often in doubt and he drifted out of favour once Vito Mannone returned to the KC.
