Young centre back who flirted with a first team career rather than grasping it. After seven seasons Neil was released and after a couple of trials elsewhere and a spell in Singapore he returned in 1998 to Lincolnshire non-Leaguers Gainsborough.
In December 2003 Gainsborough appointed Allison as player/assistant manager.
