Colin was signed from Lincoln City for £50,000 as part of Warren Joyce's squad rebuilding programme, although he returned to Sincil Bank for 3 days amid recriminations and unpaid transfer fees.  The Lion of St Lucia provided much needed power and presence up front, but while his work rate was unquestionable his strike rate was not so hot. Was traded to York for an agreeable £90,000 as part of the 1999 autumn wage bill cutting sale, then moved to Cambridge where serious injury curtailed his first team chances.  After a brief spell at Gainsborough Big Col joined Exeter.
