Born in Nigeria, Bamberdele Adebola was raised in Liverpool and started his career at the famous 1990s Crewe academy.  His early years saw him spend loan spells at Bangor City and Northwich Victoris before he established his goalscoring credentials and earned a £1 million move to Birmingham City.  A journeyman career saw Dele spend over ten years in the Championship, latterly with Nottingham Forest, and he joined the Tigers to add some height, power and experience to the City forward line.  Used as a bit part player by Nigel Pearson, Dele was not favoured by new manager Nick Barmby and was loaned to Notts County.
