Solid midfield general who put in sound performances during the relatively successful mid 90s Dolan years.  His departure coincided with City's rapid decline.
In July 2006 he was appointed first team coach at Carlisle United after spending some years on the Leeds United backroom staff.  In August 2007 he was elevated to manager on the dismissal of Neil McDonald one game into the season.
