960 Martin Pusic

Biography

Austrian wide man Pusic signed for City on a short term deal in August 2011 and made three first team starts before injury curtailed his season.  Pusic was released after only five months at the KC Stadium.

Born in Austrian capital Vienna to parents hailing from Croatia, Pusic played youth team football for various Vienna sides, making his debut in the regional leagues for First Vienna.  He then played second tier football for SK Schwadorf, who were elevated to the top league when they merged with Admira Wacker Modling.  A further season at SC Rheindorf Altach preceded his move to Hull City.

Two months after leaving the Tigers, Pusic signed for Valerenga in the Norwegian league.  He finished that season at strugglers Fredrikstad before spending the next season at Brann Bergen.  At all three Norwegian sides he scored regular goals, which led in January 2014 to a three year contract offer from Esbjerg in Denmark.  Midway through his second season at EfB he was the Danish League’s top goalscorer, which encouraged moneyball acolytes FC Midtjylland to part with £1m for his services.  By the end of that season Pusic’s goals had helped Midtjylland to the Danish title.  The following season he scored 13 goals in 25 games for Midtjylland, then spent the first part of 2017 on loan at Sparta Rotterdam.  In August 2017 Pusic was again on the move, signing a one year deal for FC Copenhagen.  That contract was cut short in January 2018 when he signed for AGF Aarhus, a few months later he signed for Danish side AC Horsens where his stay lasted a remarkable four days.  A year on he signed for Austrian Bundesliga side SV Mattersburg where he rattled in a few goals, form that attracted the attention for former German giants TSV 1860 Munchen. He signed for Der Loewen in September 2020 but left again three months later, after eight appearances, for personal reasons.

Pusic made a solitary appearance for the Austrian under-20 side in 2007.
