1013 Brian Lenihan

Biography

Irish right back Lenihan joined the Tigers in August 2014, soon moving to Blackpool on loan to gain first team experience.  Unfortunately he gained a nasty knee injury that sidelined him for over a year and he finally made his City bow in April 2016 at Bolton Wanderers.  He spent much of 2016/17 injured and did not make a first team appearance, then played a single League Cup tie during 2017/18.  In April 2018 he announced his retirement due to injuries, then in June 2018 he revealed that during the latter stages of his time at City he had suffered severe mental health issues and attempted suicide.

Lenihan was signed from Cork City, where he made an immediate impression during his two seasons in the first team.

Brian was capped for Ireland at under-19 and under-21 levels.
